Seniors can launch their FAFSA or CADAA through their Californiacolleges.edu accounts.

Financial Aid applications can usually be submitted from October 1st - March 2nd of every year, but after over 40 years, the financial aid application is getting simplified! The new FAFSA application will be released later than usual.

UPDATE: For the Class of 2024, applications will tentatively open December 31, 2023. Priority deadline is extended to April 2, 2024!
Class of 2024 will fill out the 2024 - 2025 FAFSA/CADAA. Families will use 2022 tax records.
Community College students may apply until September 2nd. The earlier you apply the better!

How to create an FSA ID
Don't delay! If you're a Dependent student you AND a parent/guardian will have to apply for an FSA ID. Your FSA ID can be used each year to electronically apply for federal student aid and to access your Federal Student Aid records online. Social Security Number required for student and parent. NEW: all parent "contributors" must create an FSA ID (with or without a Social Security Number).

Dream Act Application (AB 130 and AB 131)
This is the financial aid application for AB 540 eligible students. To qualify students must meet additional requirements.
AB 540
Allows qualified undocumented students to be exempt from paying significantly higher out-of-state tuition at public colleges and universities in California. U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents also qualify for AB 540. Students must fill out the AB 540 form at the college or university they will attend during their senior year of high school. AB 540 is accepted for qualifying students at CA community colleges, Cal States and UCs. Qualifying for AB 540 does not change a student’s immigration or residency status or provide access to any federal or state financial aid.

"Many of the member colleges, universities, graduate and professional schools, and scholarship programs use the information collected on PROFILE to help them award non federal student aid funds." Students should file as early as Oct. 1, 2023. However, students should file no later than 2 weeks before the EARLIEST priority filing date specified by their colleges or programs."

WGS will allow students to manage their Cal Grant and/or Chafee account(s) online by letting students view updates, make school changes, make address changes, make corrections, and post leave of absence requests. Students should create an account 7-10 days AFTER submit financial aid application.
