Admission Requirements

NBECHS is non-sectarian in its programs, admissions policies, employment practices, and all other operations shall not charge tuition, and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or disability. NBECHS will reach out, recruit, and strive to enroll children of families of diverse race, culture, economic, and educational backgrounds to promote a balanced and diverse student body reflective of the district, community, and surrounding areas. NBECHS expects families to understand and support the school’s mission, vision, and educational philosophy.

Process Requirements

Families must complete the NBECHS Application Form, which conforms to the law regarding nondiscrimination, to be considered for enrollment in NBECHS. In order to attract informed applicants who are committed to the school program and philosophy, all parents who desire to enroll their child at NBECHS should, before the end of the enrollment period,  attend an orientation meeting. Parents and students must commit to participating in the NBECHS educational community as outlined in the NBECHS handbook. The admission process includes providing the following documentation: legal proof of name, immunization record, emergency information, proof of address and other required legal enrollment documents. 
 
After Acceptance, new students will need to fulfill the following requirements
  1. Interview and assessment process to determine placement and subject matter needs.
  2. Parents will need to attend the parent night for new enrollees.
  3. Parents and students need to ensure that final grades from the prior year and current IEPs, 504 plans, and behavior support plans if applicable are turned in to the NBECHS registrar by upon acceptance to determine proper program placement.
Attendance Requirements

Nuview Bridge Early College High School shall abide by California Education Code § 47605(d)(1) and shall not charge tuition, nor discriminate against any pupil on the basis of ethnicity, national origin, gender, religion, disability, or any other characteristic that is contained in the definition of hate crimes set forth in Section 422.55 of the Penal Code.

Students attending NBECHS must adhere to attendance policies stated in CA Education Code, the Parent-Student Handbook, and the Admissions Contract or they may be removed from the program and referred to their home district for further schooling opportunities.

Process for Enrollment

All students interested in attending Nuview Bridge Early College High School will be required to complete an application packet and submit this application directly to the school before the annual deadline. Applications will be available during a publicly advertised open enrollment period each year, generally beginning the first business day after January 1 and continuing through 3:00 pm on Friday of or before March 1. Submitted applications will be dated and time-stamped. Student names will be added to an application roster to track receipt.

Following the open enrollment period, applications will be counted to determine if any grade level has received a number of applications that exceed available seats. In this event, the school will hold the public random drawing process to determine enrollment for the impacted grade level.

Summary of the Nuview Bridge Early College High School Application Process

The Nuview Bridge Early College High School Application process includes:

1. Open Enrollment Period (the first business day after January 1 through the Friday on or before March 1 at 3:00 p.m.)

    a. Recruitment/Informational Meetings
    b. Completion of the application packet (Intent to Enroll Form)

2. Random Public Drawing (First Friday on or after April 1 at 6:00 p.m.)

    a. Lottery (if necessary, once preferences are honored)
    b. Notification of families

3. Paperwork Requirements (within two weeks of the lottery)

    a. Notification will be sent to you.
    b. Completion of all necessary paperwork, including but not limited to:

        1. Proof of age

        2. Immunization records

        3. Home language survey

        4. Emergency medical information

        5. Orientation (May and August)

            a. Parent attendance at school orientation

            b. Student attendance at school orientation

            c. Parent and student signature of school Contract for Excellence.

            c. All updated documentation including but not limited to Final Grades, 504 Plan, IEP.
