September is upon us, but let me fast forward to October. October 1st is the first day to submit your Financial Aid application (FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application). Part of financial aid includes a Cal Grant for students who qualify.
1. In order to see if you qualify for a Cal Grant students must submit a FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application starting October 1st.
2. In addition, in order to see if you qualify for a Cal Grant, California public high schools are required to submit a Cal Grant Grade Point Average (GPA) to the CA Student Aid Commission for all 12th graders.
October 1st is the deadline for CA schools to electronically upload all Cal Grant GPAs for seniors in order to be considered for a Cal Grant award.
To summarize, seniors submit a financial aid application and NBECHS will upload your Cal Grant GPA to see if you qualify :)
